Long's Easy S Rank Guide
Assembling the team
Don't try to solo any mission maps after Vega, since you probably wont be able to solo the boss unless your a mage. Even if your a mage you will probably have a hard time with it and end up only getting a B rank unless you are very good.
From level 1-20, your party should consists of:
1. A thief or 2 to earn the combo points (the combo points are shared at the end)
2. A mage to solo the boss
3. An archer to help solo the boss.
In my experiences, try to not have a warrior in your party unless the warrior knows what he is doing. In nearly every party I have been in, warriors usually hammer spam the mobs, thus killing the combos.
After you have assembled your team, make sure everyone has their pots, no use going in empty xD.
What's your role in the team?
Mage: It's simple really. Your job is to kill the boss. Spam normal attack, dodge the boss's attack and it is all over.
Archer: Your job is also to kill the boss however you also have to rake up those combo points.
Thief: The comboer. The party depends on you for the combo points. Basically, aerial frenzy all the mobs while the mage/warrior kills all the monsters you didn't manage to kill.
Warrior: Sadly, the warrior isn't much use before the 2nd job. Since they are a melee class, its harder for them to kill bosses. Also, since their Storm Blade is too strong, they end up only getting very few combo points. Usually the warrior in the party helps kill the boss by hammer spamming and cleaning up the mobs after the thief is done.
Tip's while being in the map
1. I'm sure everybody knows that 30 combos = 1 combo point. If your not a strong comboer, don't try over-comboing, if that make sense o.o. Break your combos into 30s and 60s. It doesn't matter who has the highest combo in the maps, it matters how high your combo points are.
2. Remember, the combos are shared. No use hogging all the combos and moving on without the group, leaving them to clean up the monsters you didn't manage to kill, especially if you don't rake up much combo points anyway.
3. Work as a team. I know this is kind of obvious but some people don't even get it. If a party member is doing insane Aerial Frenzies on a giant mob, don't go in and hammer spam/storm blade the mob. Not being biased against warriors here, they just have the biggest aoe attack in the first job.
4. Don't be scared to get hit. Having 10-20 damage points won't lower your grade much if you have over 30 combo points in total so don't be afraid to just get in there and rake up those combos.
5.Don't die. I know it's pretty obvious but somehow people manage to die. Maybe it's either they don't have any pots or they are just plain reckless. Dieing can dramatically change your grading, for example if you have over 50 combo points, 1 death could bring your grade form an S to an A.
